cataract. The following is a brief summary of his opinions : (1) The incision should correspond to a straight line. Thus, when the operation is ended, the lips of the wound come into perfect apposition, and neither external nor internal pressure produces any displacement. (2) The incision should come as close upon the border of the sclerotic coat as possible. (3) The lips of the wound, though closing perfectly when left to themselves, should yet have a sufficient length to admit of the discharge of the cataract with the least amount of artificial pressure.?See the Comptes llendus for June.
